Welcome to the Aviation Management Advisory Board web page. We are pleased you have found our page and we hope it will provide you with some useful information. The primary purpose of the AMAB web page is to provide a means of communication among the Board members and also with other parties who seek involvement with the Auburn University Aviation Program. Let me tell you a little about the AMAB.
Although it has had a number of titles over the years, the Aviation Management Advisory Board is one of long standing. Throughout the years, even though the title changed, the purpose of the Board has remained constant — to provide support in the continual development of the Auburn Aviation Management Program, to maintain programs of excellence and a posture of leadership in education, in business, and all facets of the aviation industry.
The Board is composed of 30 members and the immediate past Chair of the Board. Generally, these members are alumni of the Auburn Aviation Management Program, however Board membership is not limited to alumni. The Dean of the College of Business, or his designee, along with the Chair of the Aviation Management and Logistics Department are ex-officio Board members. In addition, at its discretion, the Board can appoint up to three more ex-officio members. The Board members serve for a term of six years.
The composition of the Board’s membership spans the spectrum of the aviation profession with representatives from airport management, the airline industry, state aeronautics, aviation consultants, general aviation, business CEO’s who employ aviation resources, and aviation associations. Maintaining this great diversity among Board members makes the Board an effective instrument for the purpose for which it is intended.
