Board Committees

Executive Committee: Committee will include the Chair, Vice-Chair, Aviation Management & Logistics Department Chair, and the Dean of the llege of Business. With recommendations by the Chair of the Aviation Management and Logistics Department and the Executive Committee, the Board Chair will appoint other members as appropriate.

Strategic Planning Committee: Committee will provide direction for the Board through long-range planning.

Nominating Committee: Committee will provide Board members with names of candidates for nomination as future members. The committee shall interview prospective candidates to ensure they understand the role and responsibilities of Board membership. At the Summer meeting, the committee will also nominate members for leadership positions.

Curriculum Review Committee: Committee will review the Aviation Management curriculum, examine facilities and work with the Aviation Management and Logistics Department Chair, faculty, students, University administrators, and industry representatives to ensure the curriculum is meeting industry needs and standards as well as maintaining academic excellence. The Committee may visit other universities.

Alumni Relations Committee: Committee will be responsible for the identifying and communicating with alumni in planning and executing the annual Aviation Management Alumni Reunion, for maintaining the official alumni website, and for other designated events.

Industry/Public Relations Committee: Committee will work directly with industry and local, regional, and national media to promote Auburn’s Aviation Program. This Committee will work closely with the Alumni Development Committee and the College of Business Media Representative.

Special Events Committee: Committee is responsible for the Aviation Management Distinguished Visitor Program. This Committee will arrange speakers that represent significant contributions to the aviation industry. Speakers should include but not be limited to alumni. A special effort will be made to coordinate these events with student interests as well a Board meetings. The Committee will provide speakers twice per year during the Fall and Spring semesters. Coordination for these events with students will be made through the student representative(s) on the Board.

Capital Development Committee: Committee will work closely with the Aviation Management and Logistics Department Chair, Dean of the College of Business, Auburn University Development Office, and Associate Dean for Business and Engineering Outreach to solicit both capital and discretionary gifts to the Aviation Management program. This Committee will function as a network to provide introduction and access into the aviation industry through personal contact and formal visits.
